CD- Cover

For my preliminary work i decided to do a CD cover, i chose this one because music has always been my biggest interest. I listen to music constantly. The most listen music genres in my phone is hip hop and rap therefor I decided to make a cd cover related to those genres

I actually found this photo in my photo album on VSCO Cam, I just decreased the exposure and increased the contrast. I thought that the dark colors, the jacket and the cigarette matched the vibe that would be associated with these genres.

When it came to the masthead, I tried with different fonts and colors but I ended up liking it better without the masthead, it look more professional since the font in the programs I used did not match my expectations. I used both Photoshop and an online program, picfont.com

Before I started editing the pictures, I looked up inspiration on both Tumblr and on Google for big artists and their album covers. I personally listen to artists like J Cole, Frank Ocean and Kendrick Lamar. Their album covers are shown in the pictures below. The dark colors from the Album cover from J Cole, the parental advisory from Kendrick Lamar and the hand movement from Frank Ocean were some things that were similar to the picture that I took.
